Description

The 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse has been moved to its permanent location over Edenton Bay, one of the last screw pile lighthouses of its kind in the US. It was moved from the mouth of the Roanoke River and for many years was a private residence. At present, tours of the exterior and its history are interpreted. Soon this amazing structure will be ready for tours of the interior as well giving you a complete look of life on the water from a Light Keepers perspective.

Furnishings can now be seen in the 2nd Floor Gallery of the Barker House on South Broad Street.
