John C. Campbell Folk School

Folk School Concerts start at 7:30pm on most (but not all) Friday evenings, until Oct. 30.Non-profit folk school offering weeklong and weekend classes; free, self-directed studio tours (craft, art, music, etc.) allowed during daylight hours. Free History Center. Free weekly concert series of bluegrass, old-time, and folk music. Bi-monthly contra and square dances with live musicians and dance callers. Craft Shop featuring juried art of over 300 craftspeople. Free nature trails. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, as "Best of the Road" destination by Rand McNally Atlas, and as one of the "100 Best Vacations to Enrich Your Life" by National Geographic.
