Dismal Swamp Walking/Biking Trail

The Dismal Swamp Trail is a 3 mile asphalt trail, between Hwy 17 and the Dismal Swamp Canal. This path weaves among the trees, providing a great place for biking, hiking, birding, photography or relaxing on benches along the way. The 5' extention on Hwy 343 extends into the village of South Mills, adding another 1.5 miles. Bikes may be borrowed from Dismal Swamp Welcome Center for use on trail.
Member of the NC Birding Trail, National Recreation Trail and East Coast Greenway.

Access the trail from Hwy 343 N, approximately 1 mile north of South Mills or enter the trail from the South end of the Dismal Swamp State Park parking lot, beside the Dismal Swamp Welcome Center.
