Poplar Grove Plantation, one of oldest peanut plantations in the country, is now a charming historic site. There are tours of the 1850 manor house led by costumed guides, old time craft demonstrators, outbuildings, farm animals, exhibits, gift shop, a restaurant, picnic and playground area, wedding and party facilities, classes and workshops, a seaonal farmers market and several annual special events. Located just north of Wilmington on the Pender/New Hanover County line.

Everything is locally grown or made. The market carries a fresh selection of in-season fruits & vegetables, plants, cut flowers, eggs, cheese, sausage, crab cakes, baked goods, nuts, pickles, herbs, honey, wine & an assortment of beautiful arts and crafts. You will find local artist Ivey Hayes as well as live entertainment. The market is open on Wednesdays 8:00am- 1:00pm the first Wednesday in April to the second Wednesday in December.
