A wonderful old-fashioned rose garden near Center City Charlotte. See 1,000 roses; 230 varieties. Started in the 1950's on the site of a fuel and ice company, this 1 1/3 acre garden has recently been designated an All-American Rose Selections Public Garden. Hours: Nov. 1-Apri 30: Tues.-Fri. 9AM-1PM and by appt.; May 1-Oct. 31: Tues.-Fri. 9AM-3PM, Sun. 2PM-5PM and by appt. Admission is free.
