True American town! You can find delicious vineyards, beautiful scenery, fresh mountain air, unique eaterys, innovative businesses, Biltmore Estate, and lively but friendly night life. I travel from Pittsburgh once a year.

Parth, You may want to look at upgrading your Biltmore ticket to include one of the behind the scenes tours. If it's too chilly to walk around the gardens, check out the Conservatory, that's lovely. Also, be sure to visit Biltmore Village and take a tour of the winery, with tasting. If you want even more romance, visit in December for a candlelight/holiday tour. Have fun! I'm going back in April for the festival of flowers. Can't wait!

hi, i am planing to visit the Biltmore house with my gf next month somewhere around mid Mrach. Wondering if it's a good time to visit and what all types of activities one can find to do around that place. hoping to spend a good romantic weekend with some fun. Any comments ?

I visited the Biltmore estate last year during the Summer. The heat was unbearable with it being 101 degrees outside, all the windows in the estate were open (no airconditioning) and giant fans were placed throughout the house. But overall the experience was amazing, and beautiful to see. I especially loved the gardens.

I love the Biltmore. Last year I visited in late September and it was beautiful. I toured the house(what a house it is) and grounds. I went horse back riding, the wine tasting, and enjoyed the spa at the Inn. the food is wonderful especially at Sunday's brunch. During the shuttle bus ride to the Biltmore house the driver was courteous enough to give the riders some of the history of the Biltmore and the Vanderbilt family. The staff is more than willing to answer any and all questions. The staff there is extremely friendly. I felt so comfortable during my stay. The only downfall is that you can't take pictures(they take a picture for a fee) inside of the house to document your visit. You can take pictures everywhere else. But over all it is a lovely place and I will be returning this year in the fall. It's breath taking. I love the fresh air.

Jackie- October is a nice time to visit...I had a year's pass and I was there a lot last year, including in October. The weather is usually still pleasant and late in the month the trees start to change color.Gian- Biltmore is open all year round. We had a particularly hard winter in the area this year which has caused some plants to bloom later than usual...it would probably be best to contact the Biltmore Estate with specific blooming questions.

Is October a good month to visit the Estate? Are there any RV Campgrounds near the Estate? Do they offer senior discount tickets?

We are thinking of touring the spring of 2010; when do you have the best viewing of blooming dogwoods and azealeas at the Biltmore? I would like information concerning spring events held at the Biltmore. Thanks

Is the Biltmore open the beginning of December and if so, are advance reservations necessary and what are the rates for two seniors for overnight stays?

Esther  post: (Wed - Sep 2, 2009 11:31 AM)

I would like some more information regarding horse back riding and other activities on site or nearby? Please email me more info regarding activities. Thanks in advance. Hope to visit there Labor Day weekend. Or there any special activities going on that weekend?
