Tryon Palace was the 18th-century residence of the royal governor of the Crown colony and state of North Carolinas first capitol. The site is over 22 acres with 13 beautiful period gardens and three historic homes from the 18th and 19th centuries. The site also includes the New Bern Academy Museum.
