Known throughout the world for breeding and protecting rare and endangered waterfowl – ducks, geese and swans – as well as other birds such as flamingos, cranes, toucans, kookaburras, and more! Features the world’s largest collection of waterfowl in continentally-themed aviaries. Visitors can enjoy a beaver pond blind for wildlife observation, North Carolina’s first accessible tree house overlooking natural wetlands, an interactive bird station, poison dart frog and carnivorous plant exhibits, a working bee hive, playground, picnic area, fossil dig, gift shop and more.

We offer self-guided tours but guided tours are also available by appointment so please ask if you’re interested!
