Housed in the historic native stone Montague Building, which was built in 1919 and originally used as a library and now on the National Register of Historic Places. Inside the museum are relevant artifacts to the history and culture of our area and the wide Southern Appalachian region. The exhibits and educational programs are designed to assist in understanding rural heritage. These exhibits are ever-changing so once you visit, you can return to see other items in the future. You might catch a glimpse of antique farm implements, hooked rugs, weaving looms, or even a moonshine still depending on when you visit so come back often!
