Great places to explore and enjoy! The Planetarium, Health & Science Museum includes the 24-foot ceiling planetarium and museum features hands-on health and science exhibits and programs. Exhibits include a “giant” "Operation" game, a miniature replica of Lenoir Memorial Hospital that children can crawl into, an underground tunnel that portrays itself as a human blood vessel, and a replica of the mouth, stomach, and intestines where you can crawl and explore.

At the Exchange Nature Center, get your hands wet investigating our salt-water touch tank filled with a variety of different coastal creatures. Explore numerous exhibits of plants and animals indigenous to North Carolina, including live venomous and non-venomous snakes, flying squirrels, talking birds, bears, bobcats and more. (Souvenirs are available for purchase.) Venture into the cave in the lower level where you will find live turtles, mineral exhibits, nocturnal animal displays and aquariums depicting life along the full course of the Neuse River.

The Kinston-Lenoir County TDA-managed campground is a full-service campground by the Neuse River offering 23 sites with full hook-ups for recreational vehicles (including water, sewer, and 20-, 30- and 50-amp electric hook-ups); additional sites with 30-amp hook-ups; and tent sites without hookups.
