Whether you're looking to experience a symphony performance, attend an art show, visit a museum exhibit, find a fun family event, conduct research at a library or a step back to the Civil War at a historic site, the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources is the right place to start. If you're interested in discovering your family's genealogy, exploring N.C. history or learning how you can preserve your family treasures or local government records, we can help you too. In fact, we do a lot more.

Cultural Resources is all about what's happening today in the arts and music, but also about what's happened in the past to get us here. We're home to 27 historic sites, seven history museums, two art museums, the nation's first state-supported Symphony Orchestra, the State Archives, the State Library and the N.C. Arts Council.

Come join us and enjoy all of NC’s treasures!
