Laurel Springs has a storied history with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Home to Congressman Bob Doughton, probably the single person most responsible for the Parkway, his restored historic home is now a popular bed and breakfast and Doughton Park bears his name. Downtown Laurel Springs is located on NC 18 where is crosses the Parkway near Mile Post 248 and is magnet for motorcyclists touring this scenic byway and the back roads of the surrounding communities. Special Directions:

From I-77, take exit 83 (northbound traffic only) or exit 85 and follow US 21 north 28 miles up the Blue Ridge to Sparta, NC. At the intersection with NC 18 at the center of town, turn left. Go 14 miles to downtown Laurel Springs at the intersection of NC 18 and Blue Ridge Parkway, Mile Post 248.
