Comprised of 2,245 acres, this diverse facility has livestock and organic/convention crop production. Tour the dairy and
see firsthand, the milking operation. Visit the Swine Unit, which offers alternative swine operations. Explore the “Crops Research Program” which allows study of improved ways of producing agronomic crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat.
The Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS) is located at Cherry Research Farm. CEFS is one of the nation’s largest centers for the study of environmentally sustainable farming practices. CEFS is a cooperative effort with NCSU, NC A&T University, and the NC Dept. of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
