Cataloochee Ranch is located a mile high above Maggie Valley with an elevation of 5,000 feet, on 1,000 acres bordering the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Since 1938, the Cataloochee family has been sharing our Southern warmth and hospitality with their guests. Family-style cooking, daily horseback riding, wagon rides, cookouts, bonfires, tennis, fishing, volleyball, horseshoes, croquet, and entertainment.

The lodge features 6 units, accommodating 25 people, 12 cabins accommodating 2 to 8 people. Main Ranch House with 6 bedrooms. Private baths, fireplaces, furnishings featuring handmade quilts, primitive or classic antiques, and porches with rocking chairs to enjoy the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

If you’re an overnight guest, both breakfast and dinner are included in your lodging rates. If you aren’t, you’re invited to join us any time, as long as space is available for that meal. After all, as most of our guests would tell you, Cataloochee cooking is an experience that was definitely meant to be shared.

Dinner may be a memorable sit-down dinner or an old-fashioned cookout. The evening’s entrees may vary, but they’re always plentiful. And always accompanied by fresh seasonal vegetables, hot dinner rolls, homemade jellies and desserts. Lunch is also served every day. A hamburger and hot-dog cookout maybe. Or from a menu that includes fresh garden salads, homemade soups and deli-style sandwiches.
