Belk Visual Arts Center
Come visit and witness the essence of Davidson. A 43,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility, the “VAC” is home to both art history and studio art. The Van Every and Smith Galleries feature artwork from students, faculty, regional, national, and international artists which changes every six weeks. The galleries also feature a vast permanent collection of artwork, and an outdoor sculpture garden is an extension of this collection. One of the highlights of the arts center is Auguste Rodin's life-size statue Jean d'Aire, one of six figures from his famous monument of The Burghers of Calais sculpted in 1886, which is now located in the heart of the atrium. The Semans Lecture Hall features seating for 50, this AV-equipped hall is ideal for art history courses.
