At the confluence of the Cape Fear River, Intracoastal Waterway and Atlantic Ocean, visitors can discover the natural and cultural history of the Lower Cape Fear region. Through hands-on and interpretive exhibits, the museum shares the history of the area from the first indigenous mariners to commercial fisheries. The Civil War, World War II, and vessels, from sail to steam, ignite the imagination of all ages.
