Driving Experience
Hold on to your helmets for the ride of your life at the Richard Petty Driving Experience. Here, you can drive or ride-along in a NASCAR-style race car on the hallowed pavement of Lowe’s Motor Speedway.
The Driving Experience is just one of the many ways you can satisfy your need for speed in Cabarrus County, the racing side of Charlotte. You can take an insider’s tour of the Speedway, or attend a Sprint Cup race here in May or October. Lowe’s Motor Speedway is also home to the thrills of the brand new zMAX Dragway, which hosts a full season of exciting drag racing events. You can also tour the race shops of many of NASCAR’s top drivers, most of which call this area home.
There’s also plenty of things to do away from the track as well. Concord Mills is one of NC’s top shopping destinations, with more than 200 stores, a NASCAR themed fun park and a 24-screen movie theatre. And new to Cabarrus County in 2009 is the Great Wolf Lodge, with its full service hotel and amazing indoor water park.
