Response to comment by Allen Leroux above: Allen - Grandfather Mountain is currently building a new Visitor Center at the Swinging Bridge parking lot which will feature an elevator, making the Swinging Bridge wheelchair-accessible for the first time. The task of constucting a 6,000+ square foot building on solid rock at the top of Grandfather Mountain is even more daunting than you might imagine; however, the building is expected to be finished by Spring of 2010. We hope to see you and your sweetheart there.

I am disabled with Multiple Sclerosis and am confined to an electric scooter to get around with. Will the suspension bridge allow me to share the experience with my sweetheart ? Thank you, Allen Leroux
