Chimney Rock Park
Chimney Rock Park brings the best of the mountains together in one place. Stand atop the 315-foot Chimney Rock and see amazing 75-mile views of Hickory Nut Gorge, Lake Lure and the Carolina Piedmont. With several unique hiking trails, the Park has something for everyone from the family-friendly Great Woodland Adventure trail with 12 discovery stations along the way, to the more adventurous Four Seasons trail which climbs more than 400 feet. Be sure to hike the Hickory Nut Falls trail; the reward is the 404-foot Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in the East. Chimney Rock also offers guided rock climbing lessons for beginner to advanced climbers.
Chimney Rock loves groups! Whether you gather to celebrate your wedding, hold a unique corporate meeting, take your church, youth or senior group on a mountain adventure, work on a scout project or teach your students about the great outdoors, we’ve got the spot and program that’s perfect for you.
Chimney Rock is pet friendly (on a leash, of course).
The Old Rock Cafe offers tasty sandwiches and snacks to get you fueled up for your hike. Souvenirs of your trip can be picked up at Cliff Dwellers Gift Shop.
Weather permitting, the Park is open every day except Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. Located just 25 miles southeast of Asheville, and 90 miles west of Charlotte via US 74A in Chimney Rock, NC.
