During our vacation this past summer, we spent the week in our house in Salvo. One of the days was not particularly nice, so we decided to take in the sites (i.e. climb to the top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse and check out the Frisco Native American Museum). On our way, we stopped on Rt 12 between Avon and Buxton to witness on the sound some of the most amazing kite surfing we had ever seen. If you don't want to try it yourself, at least take a trip to watch these amazing men and women ply their trade. It is truly astounding. -- Dan Outer Banks Revealed
