NC Vineyard Weddings
There's something deeply romantic about a vineyard wedding. Sweeping views of vibrant grapevine fields, the earthy, rich smell of something wonderful growing and cool, darkly-lit wine cellars all combine to make your special day truly unique.
If you think you have to go to California to experience all of this, think again. North Carolina is home to 400 individually owned grape vineyards and over 90 wineries.
One of the things that make vineyards ideal locations is the variety of accommodations they can offer. Most vineyards have tasting rooms, wine cellars and outdoor settings, any of which can be used for either your ceremony, reception, or both.
Vineyards lend themselves naturally to certain themes (Tuscan, green, rustic, elegant), which makes it easy to plan the details of your wedding. Invitations can be adorned with graphics of grapes and vines, mimic the look and shape of a wine label or boast deep greens, reds, golds and browns. Decor can reflect those same themes. Menu options are seemingly endless. Rustic Italian, family style, wine pairings and farm-to-table would all be memorable and deliciously appropriate. Favors are just as easy to think of and can include bottles of wine, wine stoppers, fresh olive oil and small potted plants.
Wherever in the state you are, you will be able to find a beautiful venue for your North Carolina vineyard wedding.
Mountains
Raffaldini Vineyards, located on the edge of Wilkes County near the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a picturesque setting for a wedding filled with old-world charm. During the height of harvest season the air is heavy with the smell of gardenias and orange blossom. A beautiful fountain sits in the heart of a large piazza while roses, lavenders, rosemary bushes and fig trees are scattered through the property.
Raffaldini Villa
Up to 400 guests can be accommodated by using both the inside and outside spaces. A variety of packages allow you to choose which setting would be the perfect fit for your wedding. Possible rentals include the entire Villa Raffaldini, the Piazza and the Lawn. Most packages also include the use of the cottage as a suite for the bride and her wedding party.

Known for their exemplary customer care and exquisite surroundings, Biltmore provides a variety of options for weddings.
Rockhouse Vineyards
At the end of a winding road, you might find the wedding location of your dreams. This vineyard, nestled amid rolling hills on a 200-acre farm, offers spectacular mountain views.
Thistle Meadow Winery
No matter what type of wedding you're planning, this winery has a venue for it. Choose from a charming lawn wedding or a festive event in the large meadow. A bed and breakfast and large barn is also available. Customized wines help make your day even more unique.
Piedmont
With its rural Tuscany-inspired terra cotta roof and grand entry hall fountain, Childress Vineyards in Lexington provides unique spaces for both large and small weddings. Their 35,000 square-foot stone and stucco building is decorated with iron chandeliers, heavy beams and textured walls and can seat 250 guests. Your rental can include the Banquet Room, Bistro, Foyer, Outside Patio and Walkways and can accommodate up to 400 people.
For smaller gatherings of up to 30, the Barrel Cave provides a private eating area that features a cascading waterfall. Your guests will dine among barrels of aging Childress wine. The Barrel Room is more spacious but just as intimate. Guests will feel transported as they enjoy a candlelit dinner among oak barrels in the heart of Childress’ working winery.
If you’re interested in a nighttime wedding, their vineyard setting is available after six. This outdoor space overlooks the manicured fields and pond. Tours and tastings can be scheduled during your reception and convenient hotel accommodations are adjacent to the vineyard. Childress will even custom-design a wine label for one of their selections especially for your wedding.

Uwharrie Vineyards
A bridal consultant and event planner will help you plan your special day right down to the custom designed wine labels.

Coast
If you’ve dreamed about your wedding taking place under a sky of clear, abundant stars then the Grapefull Sisters Vineyard in Tabor City might be exactly the place you’ve been searching for. This rustic vineyard, close to the state line, was born when two sisters inherited a tobacco farm. Initially at a loss for what to do with the land, they happened upon grapevines that were growing wild along a creek. Rumor is they had been planted a century before by a great uncle.
Today, the vineyard is a fun, rural setting for weddings. The winery is housed in a modern version of the old tobacco barn that once stood on the site. Upstairs is Inn d’Vine, a three-bedroom bed and breakfast perfect for your pre-wedding preparations as well as your honeymoon. Wraparound porches invite you to relax, sip some wine and reflect on your perfect day.
The Grapefull Sisters can accommodate all sorts of weddings, including elopements. A wedding coordinator will help you choose all the elements of a beautiful wedding or purchase the “turn key” wedding and the Vineyard will provide everything you need, including food, flowers, officiant, photographer and more.
Martin Vineyards
Get married among grapevines or among apple and peach trees on the vineyard's farm. The vineyard overlooks Knotts Island Bay and the Mackay Island Wildlife Refuge.
Silver Coast Winery
Surrounded by lush woods and located only 15 minutes from the beach, this winery is a perfect alternative to the traditional beach wedding.
