Eastern Sandhills Wine Trail – Piedmont
Three Wineries, Distance Of 65.1 Miles – Winding through the scenic sandhills south of Fayetteville, this wine trail covers fertile land for the NC native muscadine grape, and also offers a few surprises along the route. These small wineries have become the centers of social activity for their communities, so keep an eye out for events and happenings at any time throughout the year.
You’ll begin at Cypress Bend Vineyards, just southeast of the town of Wagram. This winery on the banks of the Lumber River hosts “Jazzy Fridays” twice a month, as well as occasional dinners and festivals. Further to the east, the Lu Mil Vineyard also plays host to many events, and has cabins to rent for those who want to spend a few nights on an operating vineyard. Over at the Lac Belle Amie Winery, the owners offer a variety of muscadine varieties, as well as wines produced elsewhere for people who prefer Chardonnay, Syrah and other varietals.
