Dining At The Wineries

Care for a meal with your wine? As you experience winery tours and wine tastings across North Carolina, take some extra time to enjoy the restaurants paired with our award-winning wineries. Here are a few mouthwatering suggestions for delicious meals at North Carolina wineries.

Bistro Restaurant at Duplin Winery in Rose Hill
Enjoy a healthful but hearty lunch at Duplin Winery’s Bistro Restaurant. From steak salads to bacon cheddar burgers – not to mention an enticing selection of wraps, sandwiches and homemade desserts – the menu offers a full range of perfect pairings for award-winning Duplin wines, especially the sweet muscadine wines they’re famous for.

Bistro at Childress Vineyards in Lexington
Childress Vineyards, owned by NASCAR’s Richard Childress, brings another culinary force to the Barbecue Capital of the World. The Bistro’s menu, like the 35,000 square-foot Vineyards facility, reveals an Italian influence. Food is fresh, innovative and organic. Pastas are homemade. Look for the special weekly discount on a Childress wine to pair with your meal.

Harvest Grill Restaurant at Shelton Vineyards in Dobson
Down Cabernet Lane in Dobson, North Carolina, Shelton Vineyards is a not-to-be-missed Yadkin Valley stop. The largest family-owned estate winery in the state features the Harvest Grill Restaurant. Enjoy pairing Shelton wines with fine cuisine and handcrafted cheeses at lunch or dinner.

Dining at Biltmore Estate Winery in Asheville
Biltmore Estate dining options range from sandwiches fresh off the grill to gourmet ice cream and pastries to fine cuisine with an Appalachian flair. Chefs use ingredients fresh from the Estate kitchen gardens, and you’re sure to find the perfect Biltmore wine pairing for each delectable bite!

Hello: Have tried all of these places - all are great, and the Century Kitchen at Flint Hill is undoubtedly one of the finest restaurants we've eaten in (both in atmosphere and cuisine). But you've left out an important winery bistro not listed here. It's the Big Woods Restaurant at Sanders Ridge Winery which features a superbly prepared, yet simple cuisine (you've got to try their fried green tomatoes...they'll set a standard for you, that's for sure). We've eaten there on several occasions and have not been disappointed - not to mention the delightful "mountain lodge" atmosphere with their huge post and beam building. You can view them at: http://www.sandersridge.com/big_woods/big_woods.htm Keep up the good work, but it's important for many of us that you maintain an accurate up-to-date listing of NC wineries that actually serve food whether in a bistro or formal restaurant setting. Thanks, Ben Herrmann Fuquay Varina, NC.
