Want to know more about Pirates of the North Carolina Coast? Here are a few tours and attractions that to fill your treasure crest with great memories.

Belle of Topsail Pirate Cruises: Anything can happen as the riverboat replica heads out on the Intracoastal Waterway. A pirate-packed galleon might approach, a battle with real water cannons might ensue, and Whitebeard might come aboard. Choose a children's cruises or a scarier pirate re-enactment. 

Pirate Cruise to Money Island: Two-hour cruise with a costumed pirate guide and storyteller takes voyagers to Money Island, rumored to be the spot where Captain Kidd buried his booty. Blackbeard, Stede Bonnet and other pirates who plied these waters are discussed. A Pirate Treasure Hunt option lets kids explore Masonboro Island in search of a buried treasure. 

Beaufort Historic Site: Tours explore a rich past of pirates (as well as star-crossed lovers and Confederate spies) in the historic district and at the Old Burying Ground. 

Port City Tour Company: Multiple options for pirate-minded visitors include "The Legend of Blackbeard." The interactive tour of Beaufort leads past Hammock House, where Blackbeard once stayed, and tells the pirate's life story. Also of interest: the Beaufort Ghost Walk, which includes the Old Burial Ground, and the Pirate Island Treasure Hunt for kids. 

Pirate & Unusual Tales Walk: A private walking tour in downtown Wilmington includes tales about famous pirates, shipwrecks and local lore. 

Graveyard of the Atlantic Walking Tour: Blackbeard's pact with the devil and other pirate lore are explored on this walking tour in Manteo. 

Whalehead Club: Ghost tours start at this historic house-museum in Corolla and trace the footsteps of pirates, former guests and shipwreck victims. 

Attractions
Teach's Hole: Ocracoke shop features a life-size re-creation of Blackbeard with a display of weapons – including a sword from the 1700s – bottles, woodcuts, pirate flags and scale models of Blackbeard's ships plus a short documentary about Blackbeard's life and death at Ocracoke. More than 1,000 pirate-related items are available for sale. 

Pirate Adventures of the Outer Banks: Children dress as pirates and sneak aboard the Sea Gypsy, search for treasure and fire the water cannons. Find the adventure in Manteo.
