The Spa At Fearrington Opens Its Doors

After years of planning, months of construction and staff training, and weeks of being quietly open to fine tune operations, The Spa at Fearrington is now officially open.

The Spa at Fearrington enhances the range of amenities offered by Fearrington Village, the destination retreat anchored by The Fearrington House Country Inn and Restaurant.

Overseeing the design of the space was merchandise manager Daneen Griffin and Fearrington Village’s general manager, Theresa Chiettini.

“We’ve looked at spas all over the US and Europe and feel we’ve created something that’s quite unique in our area - a spa that offers tranquility, charm, a warm professional staff, all in a relaxing setting,” Chiettini said.

Griffin described the resulting look as Swedish Farmhouse “where interiors are full of light, rooms are characteristically gray-washed in soft color, furniture is simple, floors are bare and space is unfussy.” She wanted to create the Spa to evoke “an emotional reaction where you feel yourself ‘settle’ and let go although you are not quite sure why.”

The nearly 4,000 square foot facility overlooks the Village Center and fronts a courtyard apothecary garden. Inside, the spa has a large studio for manicures and pedicures, and four private treatment rooms for massage, facials and other treatments. The Spa also includes a boutique shop offering skin care and apothecary products, simple chic apparel and luxury home goods. The store, called Haven, also serves as the Spa’s reception and greeting area.

“The Spa is proving popular not only with our day visitors and leisure travelers staying at the Inn, but also with corporate groups and wedding parties who want the complete retreat experience,” Chiettini said. “We’re very excited to offer that now.”

The Spa at Fearrington offers a range of treatments, including massage, facials, manicures and pedicures, and is open to guests staying at The Fearrington House Country Inn and to the general public.

Most skincare products used in the Spa are provided by Elemis, a leading British luxury spa and skincare brand. Elemis was launched 21 years ago by three London-based spa experts working in consultation with Jan Kusmirek, one of the world’s leading authorities on organic ingredients and medicinal plant extracts. His expertise has enabled Elemis to discover some of the world’s most cutting-edge ingredients and manufacturing techniques, improvements that ensure every product delivers maximum results.

The Spa at Fearrington is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on Monday. Reservations can be made by calling the Spa at 919-545-5723.

It is conveniently located next to The Old Granary Restaurant, Fearrington Village’s daytime restaurant, offering customers a convenient lunch or brunch option before or after a treatment. Earlier this year, the Old Granary was recently voted a Top 50 brunch restaurant nationally by the diners of OpenTable.
