Chanda SilerSept. 30 Report - Grandfather Mountain State Park

Sept. 28, 2013, Blue Ridge Parkway near Grandfather Mountain State Park.

And so it begins, another beautiful autumn season to enjoy in the North Carolina mountains. Grandfather Mountain State Park, starting at 3,800 feet and rising to Callaway Peak at 5,964 feet, is lighting up with the yellows of tulip poplars and birches as well as the reds of maples, sourwoods and dogwoods. How exciting to see the colors come alive. Very soon this mountain will be glowing!
