Landis TaylorOct. 5 Report - Grandfather Mountain

A kaleidoscope of color can currently be spotted at the Grandfather Mountain Nature Museum upper parking lot, complete with blue skies and clusters of red mountain ash berries. Today is forecasted to be beautiful in the High Country, and Grandfather Mountain is operating under extended hours this weekend (ticket sales from 9 am to 6 pm, and the park is open until 7 pm).

This is the first weekend "The Colors of Grandfather" guided walks will be offered at 1 pm daily. The program, led by a Stewardship Foundation education staff member, is included in park admission and will focus on the reasons why trees change color during fall.
