Amanda LasleyOct. 29 Report - South Mountains State Park

Oct. 29, 2013, View from South Mountain Park Avenue.

Still haven’t gotten enough fall color? Drive out to South Mountains, where the lower elevations result in a later leaf-peeping season than the rest of the Blueridge. Our sourwoods and blackgums are red. The maples are turning yellow and red. The sycamores and poplars are yellow, and the sweetgums are changing from red to violet.
