Oct. 23, 2013, Fishing at Carolina Beach State Park.

Fall fishing on the southeastern coast is in its prime. Flounder are biting natural baits of finger mullet, and menhaden are in good numbers in the Cape Fear River and Snow’s Cut on the Intracoastal Waterway. Red drum and speckled trout are feeding in the inlets, tidal creeks and marsh ledges of these same waters. A variety of baits are finding success including soft plastics, jighead grubs and top water plugs.

Join us for a Biological Wonderland Hike each Saturday at 2 pm through February 2014. View carnivorous plants and a variety of unique, natural habitats. For more information, please call the park office at (910) 458-8206 or check our website. For more information about visiting this area, go to Wilmington and Beaches.
