Oct. 2 Report - Pilot Mountain State Park

We still have a lot of green, but some leaves are turning near the top of the mountain. Tulip poplar trees are turning and already dropping leaves. Some of the sourwoods and dogwoods are a nice red color. During the next week or so, we expect more color in the maples, sassafras, hickories and oaks soon after. We should see peak color in about two to three weeks.
