Oct. 18 Report - William B. Umstead State Park

We are starting to see some color change at William B. Umstead State Park. Some golds and reds are beginning to appear. Many trees still remain green but are on the verge of turning. We can expect to see peak color in the next one to three weeks.

Fall color change is gorgeous at William B. Umstead State Park and should not be missed! Big Lake and Reedy Creek lake in particular are excellent viewing locations.

Visitors can also check out fishing poles and tackle for free from our visitor center and return it when they are done. When visitors under the age of 16 check out a pole, they are given a free tackle box with fishing gear.
