Oct. 15, 2013, View from Smoky Mountain Host Visitor Center.

The Smoky Mountain Host Visitor Center is open to direct visitors to waterfalls and hikes in Western North Carolina. There are so many other things to see and do as well, including: zip lining, fishing, rafting, boating on our lakes, train excursions, gem mining, arts and craft shows, folk centers, a Cherokee Indian town, a chocolate factory, breweries, vineyards, great restaurants, camping and more.

The color is really beginning to pop, and can be seen best on two-lane roads in the area right now. You'll see red, gold and orange leaves. Western North Carolina is looking great so far this fall!
