Edenton Celebrates 300 Years

This first colonial Capital of North Carolina will kick off their 300th celebratory year with a week of festivities that are bound to bring about good memories and much enjoyment for all. Recently recognized as one of America’s Prettiest Towns by Forbes.com, Edenton shows her age with pride. Commemorative events will take place on the 1767 Chowan Courthouse Green and in the courthouse itself to include a prayer service, free walking tours on the founding of the town, the Carolina Charter on display, ringing of the courthouse and church bells, historian speaker Dr. Marty Matthews on the founding of Edenton, and gospel singing throughout the week. Mark your calendar and become part of what promises to be a very festive year!
