Begin with a farm that has been in the family since 1807. Add two proprietors, Dan and Tina Smith, who are totally dedicated to the art of crafting quality wines. Toss in fabulous one-of-a-kind events, and you have Cypress Bend Vineyards near Laurinburg.

The Smiths' winemaking began in 2005, as they planted 30 acres with five varieties of muscadine grape. You can taste the results in 11 different table wines including one of the driest muscadines you can find. The cellar also provides Chardonnay and Syrah vintages.

One of the neat things about Cypress Bend is its unique calendar. Jazzy Fridays feature live jazz every other week.
