What do you get when you combine the most scenic drive in North Carolina and more than 800 of the nation's hottest looking classic cars? The highly anticipated, "Cruise the Smokies" Fall Cherokee Rod Run. More than 3,000 car enthusiasts will turn out for the Southeast's premiere Rod Run at the Acquoni Expo Center. Gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 9 a.m. until noon on Sunday.
Spectator admission is $10 each day of the event and is free for children age six and under. Registration for the event is open to pre-1972 vehicles or highly modified late model vehicles. Vehicle registration is $35 at the event. Save $5 by pre-registering before October 1. Registered vehicles are eligible to win cash prizes!
The Fall Cherokee Rod Run features a busy vendor area, swap meet, and daily entertainment. Cherokee's many cultural attractions and proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Blue Ridge Parkway make the Rod Run an event the entire family can enjoy. I have called at least 9 times to number given,never once had a return call.Finally got entry forms after two months of calling.Even at last weeks Grand Run they were passing out advertizing for fall run but no one knew where it was going to be held.This will be first show of this rod at an outdoor event and I need to know exactly where it will be & security information. I need someone to call so I can ask questions. I will be staying at Harrahs throughout event as car will be brought in enclosed trailer--no an outside vehicle (but I can bring some covering as I don't want to be moving it over & over. I can send pics if you need.
