From 1950 to 1954, millions of viewers tuned their television sets to NBC for a 90-minute sketch-comedy show starring Sid Caesar, Carl Reiner, Howard Morris and Imogene Coca. The writers were Mel Brooks, Neil Simon, Michael Stewart and Mel Tolkin and the show was called "Your Show of Shows." The show changed television forever and influenced every television comedy that came after it. I absolutely Loved this musical.. My husband and I took our three kids ages 4, 10 and 12.. all three were speechless throughout the entire show. My husband had just returned from his first tour in Iraq and all 5 of us were in tears at times.. we were able to see it in Gettysburg at the Majestic... if you get the chance.. find it.. and see it!!..

This show is AMAZING! Every song evokes new insights into the Civil War experience from a different perspective. Based on actual diary entries, yet set to contemporary music (pop, folk, gospel, etc.) the scenes move seamlessly through time, catching the poignancy of each character's plight in truly effective theatrical minimalism. Just see it! You won't be disappointed.

I was one of the few lucky ones that got to see this play on Broadway. Sadly it only made it a few weeks. Contrary to what you may think, For the Glory is neither pro-South or pro-North, rather it is a heart touching musical that will bring a tear to your eye and leave you covered in goose bumps. The performance of extremely talented actors at Flatrock give honor to the original cast. Don't miss this one. It will entertain you and make you think. Take a friend and appreciate what our country went through during this historical time in the life our our young country.
