RISE is a one-day fly fishing festival celebrating the French Broad River and its stewards: outdoor guides, outfitters and conservation advocates.
The fest includes activities for the novice and expert like casting and fly-tying competitions, kid-friendly programming, an artist market, raffles, and gear pop-ups by outdoor brands and outfitter partners Davidson River Outfitters, Hunter Banks, and Headwaters Outfitters.
The stand-out signature of the festival is the Fish Flash Tattoo Studio set up in Wrong Way’s River Lodge. Tattoo artists Sarah Roach (@drawingplantsandthings) and Reign Takata (@takatatattoo) will offer river-centric flash designs for attendees to get inked on site.
The Chop Shop Butchery will be smoking BBQ on site and serving plates from noon until they run out. Down-river breweries New Belgium Brewing, Hi-Wire Brewing, Zillicoah Beer Co., and Wedge Brewing Co. will be pouring, and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available in the Wrong Way River Lodge.
Plus, live music from local musicians will fill the property all day, playing right outside Cabin 14.
