Spend the weekend immersed in Native American culture at this intertribal powwow at American Legion Fairgrounds in Jacksonville, now in its sixth year. Saturday features two Grand Entries, at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m., with a single Grand Entry Sunday at 1 p.m., each followed by dance exhibitions in styles ranging from fancy and jingle to traditional and grass.
More than 40 vendors sell handmade crafts such as beadwork, woodworking and Native American jewelry, alongside food vendors serving fry bread, international dishes and American desserts. Visitors can also join in storytelling under a tipi and take part in select dance ceremonies throughout the weekend.
In 2024 and 2025, the Onslow Veteran's Pow Wow was named "Best of the Best for Events & Festivals" voted on by local community, awarded by Jacksonville Daily News.
