Ocracoke Island Scallywag 5k 10k and Blackbeard's 1/2 Marathon

Celebrate fitness and coastal scenery at Ocracoke Island’s annual Run Fest, featuring a 5K, 10K, and half marathon through the heart of the village. Now in its 15th year, this beloved event invites runners to experience Ocracoke at a slower pace—passing historic neighborhoods, Ocracoke Harbor, and the second-oldest lighthouse in the United States still in continuous service. The course is mostly flat, making it accessible for runners of all levels.

All island accommodations are within walking or biking distance of the start and finish line, with bike and golf cart rentals available. Parking near the race area is limited.

Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three male and female runners in each age group. All 5K and 10K participants receive a finisher medal and commemorative T-shirt (sizes guaranteed for those registered by April 1).

Following the race, runners and spectators are invited to a post-run celebration beginning at 10:00 a.m. at 1718 Brewing, featuring live entertainment and locally brewed refreshments.
