Ocracoke Fig Festival

Celebrate one of Ocracoke Island’s sweetest traditions at the 13th Annual Ocracoke Fig Festival, a free, family-friendly event honoring the island’s beloved fig trees and summer harvest. Held at the historic Berkley Barn, the festival features live music day and night, traditional Ocracoke square dancing, children’s activities, talks by local fig experts, and vendors offering fig preserves, fig cakes, fig trees, fig art, fig beer, cookbooks, and other fig-inspired items.

A highlight of the festival is the Fig Cake Bake-Off, where bakers compete in traditional, innovative dessert, savory, and youth categories. This year’s special guest is Chef Jamie Davis, executive chef of The Hackney in Washington, NC, and a 2024 James Beard Best Chef Southeast finalist; he'll serve as a guest judge and prepare a featured dish for the festival’s Savory Fig Dinner on Thursday evening.
