Celebrate the holiday season during OBXmas on the Outer Banks! From Thanksgiving through the New Year, spend your weekends exploring festive events all across the islands – including seaside festivals and markets. Don’t miss these key events throughout the season (and check the website for individual event details).
WinterLights at Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo: Stroll along illuminated garden walks and discover the joy of the season with holiday lights that transform the ten-acre gardens into an open-air enchanted wonderland. Varied dates from November 21 – December 30.
The 12 Bars of Christmas: From Fried Oreos at Jack Frost’s in Kill Devil Hills to dinner in an ice fishing shed at Jingle 12 Tavern in Nags Head, watch as 12 bars transform with the help of a little holiday magic – featuring themed menus, drinks and decor. Varied dates from November 28 – December 31.
Kites with Lights at Jockey’s Ridge: Be sure to make it out on Saturday, November 29 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. for a light display like no other. Kites with Lights, at Jockey’s Ridge State Park, features large 19-to-30-foot kites decked out in the spirit of the holiday season! At 5 p.m., enjoy the lighting of the Jockey’s Ridge State Park Solar Christmas tree out on the dunes directly across from Jockey’s Ridge Crossing.
