Deep-fried everything, nightly fireworks and rides running until midnight draw 1 million people to Raleigh over 11 days each October.
Ride the State Fair Flyer, a sky lift gliding 1,400 feet above the midway, or take in the 230-foot America 250 Wheel. Catch more than 60 free sets from local NC talent at the Homegrown Music Fest on the Waterfall Stage, then step into the Village of Yesteryear to watch more than 75 artisans at work.
Horse and livestock shows with thousands of animals, blue-ribbon competitions and pig races fill out the grounds, alongside turkey legs and more than 80 new food vendors. Wash it down with NC-made beer and spirits at the NC Public House or NC Stillhouse.
