Hickory Ridge History Museum proudly hosts Living History Museum Days, an immersive, hands-on experience that is fun for everyone as it brings history to life. Every cabin comes alive with the sights, sounds and smells of 18th-century life in the North Carolina mountains. Watch and learn from demonstrators in period costume as they show how settlers lived and worked.

From open-hearth cooking and blacksmithing to weaving, spinning, woodworking and frontier chores, guests will experience a day in the life of the early settlers who called this region home. Our interpreters will demonstrate traditional skills throughout the village, inviting you to explore, ask questions and connect with the everyday stories of Appalachian history.

Perfect for history lovers of all ages, don't miss this unique opportunity to learn about Appalachian traditions and the daily life of early settlers.

Can't make this date? There are two more Living History Days this season: August 29 and November 14.
