Hickory Ridge History Museum proudly hosts this Living History Museum Day, an immersive, hands-on experience that is fun for everyone and brings history to life. Every cabin will come alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of 18th-century life in the North Carolina mountains. Watch and learn demonstrators in period costume as they show how settlers lived and worked.
From open-hearth cooking and blacksmithing to weaving, spinning, woodworking, and frontier chores, guests will experience a day in the life of the early settlers who called this region home. Interpreters will demonstrate traditional skills throughout the village, inviting you to explore, ask questions and connect with the everyday stories of Appalachian history.
