Enjoy the coolest event of the year at the award-winning Visit Haywood Ice Fest Weekend! As an official Signature Event of the Southeast, Ice Fest packs a punch of can’t-miss winter fun across 4 days and 5 mountain towns.
Here's a rundown of 2026's frosty festivities:
January 29: Cool Jazz Concert, featuring renowned saxophonist Walter Smith III, at Haywood Arts Regional Theater (HART, a ticketed event).
January 30: Ice Block Party in downtown Waynesville, 5-8 p.m. (free)
January 31, 9 a.m.: Frosty 5K at Haywood Community College (free)
January 31, 4-9 p.m.: Ice Extravaganza in Maggie Valley, a full-on winter festival complete with mesmerizing live ice-carving demonstrations, thrilling ice games, dazzling light features, and a variety of local vendors! (ticketed event)
Ice Fest Weekend also features an ice rink in downtown Canton, guided outdoor excursions, and lots of specials, discounts and activities at local businesses!
