Join the Four Seasons Chamber Music Festival for a captivating musical journey from Bohemia to America, featuring landmark piano quintets by Antonín Dvořák and Amy Beach. Experience Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, a celebrated work filled with mournful lyricism, lively country dances, dramatic intensity, and the distinctive musical colors of his native Bohemia.
The program also features Amy Beach’s Piano Quintet in F-sharp Minor, a groundbreaking work by one of America’s most important composers of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. From its mysterious opening to its gorgeous lyricism and exhilarating rhythmic drive, Beach’s quintet showcases her remarkable voice and lasting influence on American chamber music. Pianist Thomas Sauer, violinists Jennifer Frautschi and Jesse Mills, violist Ara Gregorian, and cellist Colin Carr bring these two powerful works to life in an unforgettable evening of world-class chamber music.
