The Fort Branch Battlefield Reenactment is an immersive Civil War living-history event featuring battle reenactments, period military camps, artillery demonstrations, cavalry, period music and educational activities at the historic Fort Branch site along the Roanoke River. The 2026 event marks the 40th annual reenactment.
Programming runs throughout each day and includes living-history demonstrations and historical presentations. Each day's highlight is the battle reenactment at 1:30 p.m., when reenactors bring Civil War history to life on the historic battlefield, offering visitors an immersive experience that connects them directly with North Carolina's Civil War history.
The event is free and open to the public. Parking is $10 per day or $15 for a two-day pass, available for purchase on-site during event hours; cash only.
