Foothills Farm Festival

Explore Southern Appalachian farming, food and craft traditions at this family-friendly fall festival in Danbury. Held in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the event features live bluegrass music, antique tractors, hit-and-miss engines, a tractor parade, old-fashioned farming and harvesting demonstrations, blacksmithing, chainsaw carving, tobacco harvesting, corn picking and husking, hayrides and a children’s activity area. Watch homemade ice cream, apple butter, molasses and biscuit-making demonstrations, then enjoy food prepared by local community groups. A country meal is served at 5 p.m. Browse handmade crafts and artisan vendors while experiencing traditions that continue to shape rural North Carolina.
