April is for Arts Festival

April is for Arts brings creativity to every corner of Davidson, and this three-day celebration is the highlight of the month. The weekend begins with the Gallery Crawl on Friday evening, 6-9 p.m., when Main Street and South Main Street transform into an open-air showcase of local talent. Shops and galleries stay open late, welcoming visitors to step inside, meet artists and discover original works while enjoying the energy of a lively downtown atmosphere.

Art on the Green continues the celebration Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sunday, 12-4 p.m., on the Davidson Village Green, drawing thousands of visitors each year. As the town’s largest annual arts festival, it features more than 50 artists from across the East Coast presenting work in a wide range of mediums, from watercolor and oil paintings to handcrafted ceramics and striking sculptures. Guests can browse one-of-a-kind pieces, connect directly with artists, enjoy live music throughout the day, and sample offerings from local food vendors and nearby restaurants.

The weekend wraps up on Sunday with a Concert on the Green, 6-8 p.m. The concert bring the return of The Davidson College Jazz Ensemble, kicking off the concert season with a lively performance at the Village Green's library stage for all to enjoy.
