Looking for some exciting entertainment this summer? Head to the cooler mountains of Boone and attend An Appalachian Summer Festival. Featuring a variety of quality performances, this festival has something for everyone.
This annual celebration of the performing and visual arts is held every summer in venues across Appalachian State University's campus. The festival offers a diverse mix of music, dance, theatre, visual arts and film programming. Many performances are at The Schaefer Center for the Performing Arts, which is widely regarded for its excellent acoustics and accessibility.

Here are just a few of the exciting performances at An Appalachian Summer 2026:
On June 27, Punch Brothers kick things off. On July 8, you won't want to miss Gladys Knight. On July 10, catch the widely-acclaimed a cappella group Straight No Chaser. On July 18, Tony Award winner Darren Criss performs. July 27 brings Grammy winner Rick Springfield, who will perform classic hits and songs from his new album. The Jayhawks end the festival on August 1.
